Julian Assange is a professional journalist and publisher whose work has been praised for its excellence and service to the public interest.
He has won multiple journalism awards and recognition from his peers.
He has been convicted of no crime, yet because Wikileaks held power to account, he has already effectively already served a prison term of 11 years for simply doing his job.
Today in 2023 Julian continues to suffer ongoing mental and physical damage from the inhumane conditions he has endured during his recent years of incarceration in London's Belmarsh Prison.
Meanwhile, the threat of extradition to the USA (which would surely kill him) looms ever closer.
It's time to stop this witch hunt, America.
Prime Minister Albanese, please! Set our Julian free!
Enough is Enough!
We are launching “Free The Man” to support Julian and to help amplify the public cry for his release on humanitarian grounds.
Please SHARE THIS SONG LINK widely to remind our government
and our fellow Australians that JULIAN ASSANGE MUST BE RELEASED NOW!
lyrics
Free The Man
How can they imprison a man for telling the truth?
How can it be a crime for a journalist to publish it?
The war crimes of the USA, he exposed for all to see
The public has the right to know, don't shoot the whistleblower
Hiding from the Yankee merchants of unholy war
He spent seven years imprisoned in the embassy of Ecuador
Now he's dying in a London jail, for no good reason
Australia should bring him home to health and freedom
Free the man, free the Wikileaks man
Free Julian Assange, he told the truth
Free the man, he did it for you and me
Free the man, bring him home
He won a Walkley award, a Galizea Prize, everyone knows it's true
Julian, you just did what journalists do
Protecting our democracy by making sure we know the facts
Our whistleblowers need to know we have their backs
No matter what the powerful do, the truth will out
Though the guilty may try to deny it, the people find out
Seek out the real truth and verify it, reveal it for all to see
That's what whistleblowers do for you and me
Free the man, free the Wikileaks man
Free Julian Assange, he told the truth
Free the man, he did it for you and me
Free the man, bring him home
